GTG Training Group partners MG Motor UK

GTG Training Group and MG Motor UK have entered into a long-term training partnership with the unveiling of a new MG training centre in Glasgow.
The new centre will operate under the MG brand, with training delivered by MG instructors in workshops, theory classrooms, and purpose-built training spaces.
Steve Baker, MG aftersales training and new product development manager, said: “With a focus on innovation, hands-on experience, and cutting-edge facilities, our collaboration with GTG marks the beginning of a long-term commitment to excellence. We’re excited to see where this partnership leads and look forward to further enhancing the success of the MG training centre in Scotland.”
Billy Hammond, GTG operations director, said: “This collaboration presents a tremendous opportunity to expand our reach and contribute to shaping the future of automotive technicians in Scotland and beyond. The MG-branded training centre not only boosts the reputation of both brands but also helps meet the growing demand for qualified technicians.”
MG Motor sales record
The news comes after MG Motor announced a new sales record in the first quarter of 2025, with 24,641 new vehicle registrations representing a 6.5% increase on the same period last year.
Meanwhile, market share rose from 4.18% in 2024 to 4.24% in the first three months of this week.
Guy Pigounakis, commercial director for MG Motor UK, said:
“The new ZS Hybrid+ has proved to be a notably popular choice with business and private customers and, alongside the MG HS, is central to our ambition to offer UK motorists an extensive choice of petrol, advanced and efficient hybrid and electric cars which will always be highly-competitive when it comes to overall value.”
