Precision Repair Group completes L & I Eaton acquisition
Precision Repair Group has announced it has acquired the well-respected repair group L & I Eaton.
Founded in 1953, the group includes 15 repair centres in Aberdeen, Dunfermline, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Newcastle Manchester, Lincoln, Carlisle, Carluke, Liverpool and Birmingham.
Following the deal, it will continue to operate under the L & I Eaton name, retaining its existing sites, people and leadership, with chief executive Lee Bootle remaining in post.
Meanwhile, the deal further underlines PRG’s ambition to develop a group of established, high-performing repair businesses, supported by long-term investment that enables individual businesses to retain their identity while benefiting from the expertise, capabilities and opportunities available across the wider group.
Vic Turner, PRG Group CEO, said: “Every business that joins PRG must bring something special, and L & I Eaton absolutely does. What stands out to me is the quality and consistency Lee and his team have built across the business. Delivering exceptional standards at one location is an achievement; maintaining those standards across an established group of 15 sites takes real leadership, discipline and pride in what you do.”
She continued: “We are very deliberate about the businesses we invest in. This isn’t about acquiring sites for the sake of growth. It’s about bringing together some of the best repair businesses in the industry, investing in their people, capabilities and facilities, and helping them become even stronger.
“L & I Eaton is exactly the kind of business we want to be associated with. I’m genuinely excited to welcome Lee and his team to PRG and to support the next chapter of their development.”
Bootle said: “Over the years, I have been approached on numerous occasions by parties interested in acquiring the business. However, I have always been clear that any potential partnership would need to be the right fit, both commercially and culturally. Until now, I had not felt that the right opportunity or partner had presented itself.
“It was equally important to me that I remained actively involved in the business following the acquisition. The business has been a significant part of my life, and I remain committed to its future development, growth and success.
“Above all, ensuring the long-term security of our people was a key consideration throughout the process. Our staff are fundamental to everything we have achieved, and the people within the business mean a great deal to me personally. I wanted to ensure that any investment would provide stability, create opportunities for the future and give our teams confidence in the ongoing direction of the business.
“Ultimately, this acquisition was about finding the right partner to help secure the future of the business, protect what we have built together and create a strong platform for continued growth, while allowing me to remain part of the journey.”
