National Automotive Careers Week set for 20 April

School of Thought will host its National Automotive Careers Week from 20-24 April.

The week-long initiative has been created to promote the collision repair sector to the next generation while also attracting people of any age who may considering a change of career.

It aims to address the acute skills challenge in the sector be encouraging a new pipeline of talent to consider the industry as a career.

Created by School of Thought founders Dave Reece and Julie Eley, National Automotive Careers Week will support school and college career events and encourage vehicle manufacturers, dealers, suppliers, garages, bodyshops, support and engineering companies to get involved.

Get involved

The company said: “Whatever your business does within the industry, there are young people out there who would like to know more about work experience, apprenticeships or just job opportunities.

“We would encourage everyone to just do one thing, such as contact a local school, offer a site visit to students, organise a work experience placement or get your message out on Facebook, Instagram or TikTok. Just do something that will make a difference.

“This is our dedicated week, supported this year by The AA, The British Motorshow and Auto Windscreens, so everyone should make the most of it.”
