Motor Ombudsman reports rising demand for Knowledge Base
The Motor Ombudsman has reported it’s Knowledge Base recorded 132,489 views in the first quarter of 2026, a 21% increase on the previous quarter.
Knowledge Base is an online reference tool providing motorists with information around car ownership, vehicle maintenance and dispute resolution.
The data has revealed that the most viewed page in the Q&A section of the New and Used Car Sales category remained Consumer Rights Act, and how it affects a vehicle purchase. It was viewed a total of 11,899 times.
Meanwhile, 8,529 people viewed the question relating to a consumer’s legal rights when buying a car, while 6,024 views were recorded on the page asking what happens if a motorist finds a fault within the first 30 days.
Other popular topics in the New and Used Car Sales category included how to make a complaint, what can a customer do about a used car problem, and whether it was possible to get a refund.
In the Service and Repair category, the most popular article was about what a customer can do if the repair is taking too long. This was viewed 2,505 times.
