Most reliable electric vehicles revealed in new research
New research has revealed the most reliable electric vehicles, and the most common repairs.
According to the latest EV Market View Report produced by Warranty Solutions Group, which analysed data from 2,500 claims, the Renault Zoe has the lowest claim rate at 1.49%. It was followed by the BMW i3 (2.17%), the MG ZS (2.33%), and the Nissan Leaf (2.42%).
At the other end of the scale was the Mercedes-Benz EQV (33.3%) and the Tesla Model X (29.17%).
Meanwhile, issues with central locking was the most common fault recorded (4.29%), followed by charge flap actuators (3.57%), suspension lower arm (2.86%), PDC sensor (2.74%), charger port (2.14%), and battery (2.09%).
Difference
Dennis Brett, claims director at Warranty Solutions Group, said: “Perhaps the most significant finding from our inaugural EV Market View Report is the scale of the difference between individual models.
“That demonstrates why the industry should no longer think about EV reliability as a single measure. Every model has its own ownership profile, repair trends and risk factors.
“The encouraging news is that many electric vehicles are proving exceptionally dependable. As the used EV market continues to mature, combining real-world claims data with industry insight gives retailers a clearer understanding of where the market is heading and helps build confidence in used electric vehicles across the sector.”
