Leicester College to showcase apprenticeship opportunities
Leicester College will host an Apprenticeship, Skills and Jobs Fair at Welford Road on 11 February.
It will showcase the motor vehicle apprenticeship opportunities at the College, local job vacancies and career pathways.
Taking place from 3pm-6pm, the event will connect students, job seekers and career changers with employers and training providers, while also providing career advice and presentations on how to improve employability.
This comes after national data revealed that 77% of new apprentices in 2023/24 were over 19 and 63% over 25, as many adults turn to apprenticeships as a way to retrain while still earning during the cost-of-living crisis.
Sustainable career
Rachel Hall, director of apprenticeships at Leicester College said: “We are proud to present the Apprenticeships, Skills and Jobs Fair 2026, an event that reflects our continued commitment to supporting individuals at every stage of their career journey.
“Whether it’s a school leaver exploring post-16 options, an adult seeking a fresh start or an employer looking to invest in new talent, this fair will bring together the key people, providers and pathways to make it happen.
“At Leicester College, we believe apprenticeships offer a powerful route to sustainable careers and economic opportunity, particularly in today’s climate, where flexible, earn-while-you-learn options are more important than ever.”
