IMI unveils new Continuous Professional Development courses

The IMI has expanded it Continuous Professional Development courses to cover new technologies such as electric vehicles and ADAS.

It is has announced it has introduced four new courses, with topics covered also including sales, customer service and automotive finance.

The courses have been launched to reflect the rate of evolution in the sector and support businesses keep pace with the rate of change.

They complement the range of technical skills courses also delivered by the IMI.

Rapid change

Kim Wenman, CPD partner and sales executive of the IMI, said: “The automotive sector has seen rapid change over a very short space of time, from the use of new technologies across a range of job roles to the introduction of new regulation to protect the consumer.

“It’s critical, therefore, that the workforce can demonstrate their continued focus on professional standards. Our new courses are designed to provide fresh and relevant learning, enabling automotive professionals to remain competent and proficient.”

Raising standards

Wenman added: “The IMI is committed to fuelling talent and raising standards across the automotive industry. And, recognising the rapid evolution of the industry, we have applied innovation to our own training offering to achieve this.

“There are more than 200 different job roles within the automotive sector, in all areas from sales and marketing to software development and data analytics, sustainability and senior leadership, as well as technical roles repairing and maintaining vehicles.

“We have developed these new courses to help businesses and individuals keep up with the growing range of skills required in the sector. Each one focuses on building core capabilities and supporting continual professional development to raise standards across the industry.”
