Auto Windscreens comes to the rescue of emergency services
Auto Windscreens came to the rescue of Lincolnshire Emergency Blood Bikes Service when one of its vehicles suffered a cracked windscreen.
LEBBS provides the transportation of blood, breast milk for newborn babies, medical samples and equipment to NHS hospitals.
Its crucial services might have been disrupted due to a cracked windscreen, but glass partner Pilkington provided a replacement windscreen free of charge and the vehicle was then taken to Chesterfield head office by Tony Green, head of technical and training at Auto Windscreens, who is also a volunteer driver/rider for the charity.
Technical training manager Jason Jackson and regional trainer Jim Allen then carried out the work, demonstrating the windscreen replacement to a number of new technicians.
Neville Wright, chairman of LEBBS, said: “Without the generosity of companies like Auto Windscreens and Pilkington, we would be unable to continue to provide our valuable service. I’d like to thank both for their help in keeping our volunteers on the move.”
