World Bee Day creates a buzz at Activate Group

Activate Group is creating a buzz this World Bee Day by installing three additional beehives at its repair centres.
The new beehives will be installed at its Manchester, Warrington, and Hampton bodyshops in partnership with beekeeping experts Buzzscape.
Buzzscape will also run onsite workshops for Activate Group’s team members and their families to learn more about the importance of bees to the environment, and how to promote greater biodiversity.
Activate Group announced its partnership with Buzzscape last year with a beehive installation at its Kings Langley repair centre and this latest announcement forms part of a the group’s environmental programme.
The business also participates in the ARIES programme and champions green repair principles such as repair over replace, as well as the use of recycled parts.

Mark Neat, operations manager, Activate Accident Repair said: “We take our environmental responsibilities very seriously, and the beehives are just one part of our broader strategy to make our sites more sustainable.
“Bee pollination is a key factor in mitigating climate change as it’s a fundamental process for the survival of our ecosystems, and many plants and crops would face extinction without it. We plant a variety of greenery and flowers in the areas surrounding the hives, helping to sustain our bee population and secure our future.”
Danielle Chruszcz, people director, Activate Group said: “Our team members are genuinely excited about the beehives and take great pride in caring for them, with support from Buzzscape.
“The bees at our first hive in Kings Langley produced excellent honey last year, which we shared with the team. We’re thrilled to expand the initiative – it’s a unique and engaging way to support the environment that’s really captured our team’s imagination.”
