Valeo welcomes Wolverhampton College students

Valeo Service UK recently delivered two training sessions to students from Wolverhampton College at its headquarters in Redditch.
The students had recently won the prestigious Technicians Trophy event against other teams from Wolverhampton College, Heart of Worcester College, and South and City College.
The event challenged competitors across a variety of disciplines, including workshop-based practical tasks, health and safety exercises, an automotive knowledge quiz, and a driving skills challenge featuring a timed simulator lap.
Stewart Lynch, technical trainer at Valeo Service UK, said: “Wolverhampton College students did incredibly well to take home the win at the Technicians Trophy. They really showed their skills and teamwork throughout the competition, and we were only too pleased to later welcome them here at Valeo as a reward.”
Training sessions
The two comprehensive training sessions included an introduction to high voltage vehicles, covering essential health and safety protocols alongside key system components such as main system relays, as well as in-depth look at dual clutch transmissions (DCT).
Lynch said: “The training sessions gave them a fantastic opportunity to get hands-on with some of the latest automotive technologies.
“It’s one thing to learn theory at college, but working on the parts with tools really brings their skills to life. We’re pleased to be able to offer the kind of practical experience that helps prepare them for the challenges they’ll face in the workshop.”
