Used BYD sales surge by 860% in a year
Used BYD sales in the UK rose by 860% year-on-year in October, according to data published by Marketcheck.
However, this growth came from a low base with 33 used BYD’s sold in October 2024 rising to 284 to 317 a year later.
Further analysis of sales over the previous 12 months carried out by Marketcheck found 1,860 used BYDs were sold throughout the previous year. Over half (59.73%) were sold between July and October 2025, with October alone accounting for more than 17%.
Alastair Campbell, Marketcheck UK, said: “While still a relatively small part of the used EV market, sales of BYD vehicles have grown at a remarkable pace over the past year. From just 33 units sold in October 2024 to over 300 a year later, this 860% increase signals a sharp rise in consumer interest and early traction for the brand in the UK.
“More than half of all used BYD sales in the past 12 months occurred in just the last four months, suggesting the market is now gaining real momentum. As more new BYD models enter the UK market, we expect to see continued growth in second-hand demand.”
