Tesla approval enhances Cooper-Barnes Automotive portfolio

Cambridge-based independent bodyshop Cooper Barnes Automotive has announced it has now secured Tesla approval.

Securing Tesla approval brings the number of manufacturer approvals held by the family-run business to 17.

Approval followed a robust schedule of skills training, investment in new equipment and an intensive audit and onboarding process.

The repairer will now support Tesla drivers across Cambridgeshire, placing it among the leading the EV repair specialists in the region.

Neil Hamilton-Meikle, sales and marketing manager, said:

“Getting the approval is the culmination of significant training, investment and knowledge building in partnership with Tesla, and we look forward to supporting Tesla, the vehicles and their drivers.”

Cooper Barnes has been operating for more than 40 years and was named Medium Bodyshop of the Year at the Bodyshop magazine awards in 2023. Last year it announced it was expanding into a second site to support continued growth and earlier this year announced it was creating a new 5,000 sqft workshop to support surging demand for its ADAS calibration work.
