Prasco ‘no plans’ to pass on rising business costs to repairers

UK automotive parts supplier Prasco UK has announced it has no plans so pass on rising business costs to its repairer customers.
Both the National Minimum Wage and National Insurance Contributions will rise on 1 April, with businesses across the sector bracing for an increase in expenses.
However, the Doncaster-based replacement parts provider has restated its commitment to ensure its prices remain affordable.
Kelvyn Waugh, Prasco UK’s managing director, said: “We fully understand the financial pressures repairers are experiencing and the issues surrounding the uncertainty they face when the latest increases come into effect. Despite the cost increases brought on by the Minimum Wage and NI increases, we want to reassure our customers that, at present, we have no plans to pass on these additional costs onto them.”
Prasco UK, which holds more than 30,000 different product numbers encompassing replacement parts for every major car marque on UK roads including MG, BYD and Tesla, has taken proactive measures to absorb these increases through improving its operational efficiencies, strategic planning and optimising its supply chain.
Waugh said: “We have worked tirelessly with our own suppliers since the government announced last October that it was bringing in the increases to ensure we have the best competitive prices for our parts feasible and now that means no immediate increases.
“Obviously, I have no crystal ball so I cannot predict what the future holds but, at present, I am determined to maintain our current position of offering the best prices possible.”
