MOT Annual Assessment deadline looms

The Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI) has issued a final call for technicians to complete their annual MOT Annual Assessment.

More than 11,000 technicians have not yet completed their MOT Annual Assessments ahead of the deadline on Monday, 31 March.

However, IMI figures have found that the industry is ahead of the curve this year, with more technicians having completed their assessments than at the same time last year.

To support those who have yet to do so, flexible IMI e-learning packages have been designed to ensure testers can meet the deadline quickly and conveniently, offering three-hour e-Learning modules that can be completed in bite-size sessions. Uniquely, it enables an assessment to be taken twice, giving technicians two opportunities to achieve the 80% DVSA pass rate.

Furthermore, the IMI’s digital MOT Useful Resources page aims to make the process easily manageable, including redeeming codes, printing certificates and uploading assessments onto the MOT Testing Service website.

Technicians who miss the deadline risk suspension from testing and potential loss of income.
