PPG launches new face-to-face and online training programme

PPG Refinish UK & Ireland has launched its new Automotive Refinish Training Programme 2024 for it’s PPG and NEXA AUTOCOLOR brands, which will be available via face-to-face practical courses and online training sessions.

PPG now offers a wide range of training courses for those who want to stay up to date on automotive refinish. PPG Training participants can now experience knowledge transfer at the highest level, both face to face, .

Leading the Training Programme for PPG is Chris Hay, training manager UK & Ireland, who has more than 30 years of experience in refinish and is key to the development and delivery of the new training curriculum. Hay said: “It is clear to us at PPG that there is a strong need for structured, best-in-class training in our market. Our core training modules have been designed to accommodate all levels of skill and job roles albeit with a strong focus on our emerging talent and new repairers. We are excited to welcome new refinishers at Stowmarket as they begin their career”.

The practical programme, which can be taken on site at the PPG Training Centre, consists of three core modules:

  • Basics of Refinish (apprentice training programme conducted over four modules)
  • Advanced Car Painting (speciality training conducted over four modules)
  • Non-Painter Awareness

PPG also offers the following four comprehensive online training courses:

  • Sustainable, Low Energy Repairs
  • RADAR considerations
  •  PPG VisualizID – The New Way of Colour Finding
  • MoonWalk – Housekeeping and Best Practice

All repairers will be trained in PPG’s advanced low-energy repair methods, ensuring that bodyshops are at the forefront of sustainably advantageous repairs.
