Motofix Group chooses GYS to replace all bodyshop equipment

Motofix Group has selected GYS to replace all bodyshop equipment as part of £250,000 investment in the latest repair equipment technology. Each Motofix site has received a new GYS Spot Welder, Pulse Mig Welder, steel and aluminium dent pulling system, and induction heating package.

Michael Beale, Motofix Group technical manager, emphasised the importance of standardising equipment at all sites:

“Our objective was to ensure uniformity and excellence across the group. After extensive market research, it became evident that GYS offered the most advanced equipment, providing the best solution. Furthermore, it is a delight to be working with the largest manufacturer in the industry who can support us from their base in the UK,” he said

GYS is the long-established French manufacturer and retailer of body repair equipment, recently bringing to market many new innovations in the fields of welding and riveting. Oliver Metcalfe, regional sales manager at GYS, said:

“It is pleasing to see one of the major groups recognising the pace of development in the latest equipment and wanting to keep ahead. The technology in the latest equipment is a world away from even a few years ago. In each sector, MIG welding, spot welding, dent pulling and riveting there have been major steps forward from R&D in the last few years. To see the response from the technicians in each site when they received the new equipment was quite something.”

Motofix investment

The Motofix Group operates from nine sites across the Home Counties and South of England, employing a workforce of more than 225 staff. The group is endorsed by 27 vehicle manufacturers, including brands such as Mercedes-Benz, Audi, BMW and JLR.

The investment in new tooling and equipment from GYS, comes alongside significant further investments. Richard Tutt, CEO of Motofix Group, said:
