ACG’s Phil Hodkinson retires after 33 years in accident repair

Accident Credit Group (ACG) national sales manager Phil Hodkinson is retiring after 33 years of working in the collision repair sector.

Hodkinson has been an integral part of ACG’s sales and marketing team over the past two years, but tomorrow (28 March) he will be hanging up his salesman’s hat and swapping it for a bike helmet as he cycles off into retirement.

ACG sales director Peter Bass commented: “Working with Phil has been an absolute pleasure. He is a consummate professional with a fantastic personality, bringing a smile to everyone he meets. From his sartorial choices in waistcoats to his brilliant council and support as a colleague, he will be missed by everyone at ACG.”

Hodkinson said: “This really is a once in a lifetime achievement, and I can’t believe the time has come for me to retire. My career has spanned over three decades, starting with 3 Arrows back in the 1990s, and along the way I have worked alongside some inspirational leaders and had the privilege of working with some successful and talented people.

“I’ve had an incredible journey with many unforgettable memories and most importantly, plenty of laughs along the way. There are too many names for me to mention – but you know who you are. Thank you for the support, inspiration, and the occasional kick in the you know where, to make sure I was on the right track. It’s truly been a memorable career.

“As for what’s next? Well, I have a large garden and greenhouse, so with the warmer weather on the horizon, I will be spending a lot of time tending to my plants. Plus, I’m fortunate to live close to the Pennines, so I will be enjoying afternoons out on my mountain bike and squeezing in some photography here and there. So, I have plenty to keep me busy and entertained. Finally, I’d like to say a massive thank you to the team at ACG for a marvellous send off, I’ve been deeply touched. Thank you, everyone, it’s been a blast.”

Bass concluded: “The team at ACG, I included, see it as a great honour to celebrate Phil’s career and send him off into the next chapter of his life. Last week, we enjoyed his final monthly sales meeting and shared past stories from Phil’s former colleagues and laughed about all the fun times we’ve shared together at ACG. We’re so grateful for everything Phil has done.”
