ABI updates board

The Association of British Insurers has announced that Amanda Blanc, group CEO, Aviva, Clive Bolton, CEO, M&G Life Insurance, and Tara Foley, CEO, Axa UK & Ireland, have joined the board.

The board provides the strategic direction to the Association’s work, chaired by Baroness Nicky Morgan. The appointments replace previous ABI board representatives for each of the firms.

Blanc said: “The role of the ABI has never been more important as our sector works together to support some of the most significant issues for the UK, from economic growth to future systemic risks. I’m looking forward to working with the ABI Board at such a critical time.”

Bolton said: “This is an exciting time to be joining the ABI Board as the long-term savings and retirement sector comes together to develop the way we invest on behalf of our customers in UK infrastructure and other productive assets. I am looking forward to working with my colleagues on the Board to ensure that the UK’s insurance industry continues to help people planning for their future grow their savings and investments.”

Foley added: “As the UK continues to experience extreme uncertainty, it’s never been more important for the insurance industry to work together and provide the resilience and protection to help people overcome the challenges they face. I am honoured to join the ABI Board and I look forward to collaborating with fellow Board members to address key industry issues and develop new opportunities that benefit both insurers and customers alike.”
