Remit Group calls for industry support

National training provider Remit Group is inviting suppliers from the automotive sector to support them in their mission to support the development the next generation of skilled automotive technicians.

Just two years after opening its first training academy in Derby, Remit Group has recently announced its plans to expand its provision and has invested £500,000 to build a new, purpose-built facility, which has opened in March 2020.

This new training academy is adjacent to Remit Group’s current facility on Wincanton Close in Derby and will focus on the delivery of heavy vehicle apprenticeships and the newly launched Specialist Tyre Operative apprenticeship standard.

The demand for apprenticeships delivered by Remit Group has significantly increased and the two Automotive Academies will play an integral part of the training and development of apprentices from all over the country. Existing and new partners will have now have access to two high quality, industry standard, professional facilities to develop their current and future skilled technicians.

As part of these exciting plans, Remit Group is appealing for support from like-minded manufacturers and suppliers who want to join them in addressing industry wide skills gaps by supporting the development of the next generation of skilled automotive technicians.

To ensure all apprentice technicians have access to a breadth of resources, in particular, Remit Group is looking for the donation of the following equipment: hybrid vehicle; hybrid training aids; high voltage tools for hybrid training; a vehicle with ADAS system; automotive training rigs and training aids; engines and transmissions; 10 tonnes air/hydraulic jacking beam; and ongoing consumables to support the delivery of automotive training

With a range of opportunities for sponsorship or support, suppliers and manufacturers are invited to email [email protected], automotive project manager at Remit Group to discuss and explore options.
