Government to double EV infrastructure funding

The government has announced it is doubling its funding to develop electric vehicle infrastructure.
Transport secretary Grant Shapps revealed an extra £10m is being committed to the on-street residential charge point scheme.
Meanwhile, the government has also announced a new drive to promote e-scooters as a long-term alternative to public transport. It said rental trials will be brought forward from 2021 to June 2020. The trials are expected to take place across the country.
