Total recall for concerned drivers

Drivers have been urged to carry out instant safety recall checks, after Kia Motors and Honda became the latest manufacturers to announce recalls.

Kia is conducting a voluntary recall of 5,020 Kia Niro hybrid and plug-in hybrid models, while Honda is recalling 141,321 cars fitted with potentially dangerous Takata airbags.

The UK-wide safety notice affects Accord, Jazz, Insight and CR-V models built from February 2010 to May 2015. The recall states that the passenger airbag inflators may rupture and cause injury in the event of deployment.

For concerned drivers, HPI Recall enables an instant check if a manufacturer has recalled a vehicle due to a critical safety defect, providing information on a specific vehicle using the vehicle’s number plate alone.

Fernando Garcia, consumer director at HPI, said, ‘Vehicle recall is a problem that is a cause for concern for many motorists. Missing a recall can impact on the reliability and safety of the vehicle. The HPI Recall checker is designed to make monitoring your vehicle as easy as possible.’
