Dyson scraps electric car plans

Dyson has scrapped its project to develop electric cars. Sir James Dyson says the plans are not ‘commercially viable’.

The company began working on electric cars in 2016 and employs more than 500 people. It has already developed models, which it has been testing, and its first vehicles were due to roll off the production line in 2021.

Dyson tried to find a buyer for its electric project but has been unable to.
