Andrew Marsh on top Down Under

Auto Industry Consulting engineering director Andrew Marsh delivered a keynote address at the biennial Collision Repair Expo in Melbourne last week.

As part of the Australian Auto Aftermarket Expo, the Collision Repair Expo welcomed over 12,000 trade visitors across three days.

Andrew’s presentation, entitled ‘ADAS Increases Repair Technology Demands on Repairers Right Now’, intended to bring repairers up to speed with the latest developments in a fast moving environment. Alongside valuable insights into the various ADAS systems that have been fitted to vehicles over the last decade, the presentation also looked at how these developments might disrupt the collision repair sector, and how businesses can stay ahead of the curve.

‘The business of repairing vehicles is becoming increasingly complex and the pace of change continues to accelerate,’ said Andrew. ‘Understanding the challenges inherent in repairing new model vehicles is critical. With electronics and software skills fast becoming essential requirements for repair technicians, obtaining the right training and equipment to undertake safe repairs will require the investment of significant time and resources from business owners.’

As well as delivering his keynote, Andrew also demonstrated the Ezi-Methods platform, which provides technical data and repair methods for all makes and models, including the ADAS elements. With nearly 100 sites in Australia already subscribed, in addition to over 300 in the UK, Ezi-Methods is the fastest growing methods solution for repairers around the world.
