The automotive industry is undertaking the shift to a Software Defined Vehicle (SDV). The call to embrace open source and open collaboration is increasingly identified as a way to accelerate this transformation. What about those applications that require functional safety certification? The industry has already adopted open source for non-safety critical applications, but, until now, there has not been a clear path to get to continuous and comprehensive safety certification of Linux natively for automotive applications.
