Arnold Clark integrates Solera cap hpi data
Arnold Clark is integrating Solera cap hpi data to improve customer experience, strengthen vehicle checks and make buying and pricing decisions more efficient.
The motor retail group has moved beyond using vehicle data for individual checks and valuations, embedding it into the processes staff use to appraise vehicles, approve purchases, and complete customer orders.
The approach brings together vehicle identification, valuations, mileage, provenance and condition information, giving staff access to relevant details at the point of decision.
Stuart Thorpe, company secretary at Arnold Clark, said: “The main change is that data is no longer treated as a separate check. Vehicle details, valuation, mileage, provenance and condition information are now built into the appraisal, manager approval and order processes.
“This means our teams have the information they need when decisions are being made, rather than having to consult different systems or carry out separate checks.”
CAP vehicle identification codes link records across Arnold Clark’s dealer management, showroom and website systems, while technical data supports vehicle configuration and part-exchange valuations. The retailer also uses Solera cap hpi valuation intelligence to support stock purchasing and retail pricing.
Thorpe continued: “CAP valuation data gives our teams a consistent starting point. We can then take account of mileage, specification, condition and provenance when assessing an individual vehicle.
“The used market doesn’t move uniformly. Having access to daily movements means our teams can review pricing against current market evidence rather than relying on broad market averages. The data informs judgement, it doesn’t replace it.”
