Fix Auto UK unveils industry-first degree apprenticeships
Fix Auto UK has welcomed its first recruits to embark on landmark degree apprenticeships.
Developed with the support of Admiral, the initiative combines paid employment with a degree from Manchester Metropolitan University and hands-on experience in the industry.
Tiah Glasgow, who will report into brand and communications manager Helen Smith, is undertaking a digital marketing degree apprenticeship, while Dominic Khan will work alongside commercial analyst Rickesh Chohan during her chartered management apprenticeship.
Ian Pugh, managing director for the Advantage Group of Companies that Fix Auto UK lies within, said: “This is another genuine industry first for Fix Auto UK and for our industry. Tiah and Dominic represent the future. Their appointments, we believe, are hugely significant, game-changing even, for the entire UK vehicle repair sector.
“It is ground-breaking, because we are not simply recruiting for today, we are creating a completely new route into our industry for the talent of tomorrow. This is the dawn of a new era in recruitment for us, combining a degree education with real-world experience and giving ambitious young people a career pathway that simply didn’t exist in vehicle repair before.”
