Used car prices continue downward trend
Average used car prices fell by 0.9% in June making it six straight months of decreasing values, according to the latest Cazoo Market View.
It found that average prices decreased to £17,471 in June, which is £155 cheaper than the previous month but £291 higher than the same month last year.
Models over 10 years old saw the greatest move, with prices falling by nine per cent year-on-year and 0.8% month-on-month to £7,574.
Meanwhile, petrol remained the dominant fuel type on Cazoo, accounting for 52% of listed used cars, while diesel vehicles took a 30% share and alternative fuelled used cars accounted for just 17.8%.

Affordability
Lucy Tugby, chief marketing officer of Cazoo, said: “Used car prices have performed strongly for dealers during the first six months of 2026, with prices consistently tracking above where they were last year.
“The affordability of older cars continues to resonate with many buyers. Our viewing data shows high levels of online searches for cars aged over 10 years, with sales potentially delivering some decent margins, especially for independent dealers.”
