Cooper Barnes Automotive secures Chinese brand approval

Cambridge-based independent repairer Cooper Barnes Automotive has secured its 20th manufacturer approval with the addition of Jaecoo & Omoda.

The Chinese brands passed 25,000 sales in the UK in August, less than a year after launching into the market, and have recently announced a new set of financial incentives to support further growth.

In response to the new electric vehicle pay-per-mile tax announced in the Autumn Budget, the Cherry-owned brands have introduced their own tax rebates for the fully-electric Omoda E5 and Jaecoo E5 SUVs.

Neil Hamilton-Meikle, sales and marketing manager at Cooper Barnes, which was named Medium Bodyshop of the Year in 2023, said: “The of Jaecoo & Omoda puts us further in front of the curve in terms of EV repair, and servicing the expanding EV market.

“The manufacturer has very ambitious sales targets for the UK for next year, and having a repair network ready to go shows their commitment forward planning and customer service.

“We look forward to supporting the brand and its drivers.”
