ChipsAway franchisee Barry Hussey celebrates 10,000th invoice
ChipsAway franchisee Barry Hussey has celebrated sending his 10,000th invoice in just over 10 years.
He first set up his franchise in 2010 and has passed the 10,000-invoice landmark since adopting the bespoke ChipsAway CRM system in 2014.
After beginning his career in a Cambridge workshop and progressing to manager, he launched a ‘man-in-a-van’ operation and then expanded that by opening a fixed-base operation to handle larger repairs.
To improve his work-life balance he returned to mobile operations with ChipsAway and has reaped the rewards.
Mobile work
He said: “I love the variety that comes with mobile work; different people, different places every day. It gives me the freedom to manage my time around life and family, especially with five boys at home. The ability to build my workday around my life, not the other way around, is priceless. It’s one of the biggest benefits of running a ChipsAway franchise.”
Another part of his success is collaboration with other franchisees. He and neighbouring franchisee Jack Newman regularly share advice and insights and work together on larger jobs.
Hussey concluded:
“We chat outside of work, share advice, and help each other out when needed. Even though you’re your own boss, you’re never truly on your own with ChipsAway.”
