The independent expert jury for the Bodyshop Awards 2025 has been announced today and will comprise 10 professionals from a broad range of repair sector specialisms.
The judging panel, which will convene on Tuesday, 5 August at Morelli Group’s Eyebox Training and Conference Centre in Coventry, includes Michael Golding (Allianz); Angela Henry (Fix Auto Stoke); Jason Hopkins (Axalta); Dean Lander (Thatcham Research); Chris McKie (Vizion Network); Ruth Moring-Beale (Morelli Group); Stephen Osborne (3M); Phil Peace (Repairify); Martyn Rowley (NBRA); and Dave Sargeant (Gemini ARC).
Independent expert jury unveiled
On “jury day”, the independent panellists will each get one vote in each of the non-technical categories, including Small, Medium and Large Bodyshop of the Year, Group Bodyshop, Technical Training Provider, and Supplier.
If there is any competitive conflict between an individual jury member and an award entry or award category, that juror will be asked to leave the room and will not take part in the debate-and-voting phase for the particular category.
The team from Bodyshop Magazine – Simon Wait, Louise Cooke and Emily Miles – will be on hand to count the votes and provide candidate insights as required, but to keep the competition uniquely independent within our industry, the Bodyshop team will have no voting rights.
Technical categories
Judging for the seven technical awards – the Powered by Vizion–Bodyshop Thatcham Panel and Paint Apprentices and Technicians; the Powered by IAEA–Bodyshop Thatcham VDA of the Year; and the Powered by asTech–Bodyshop Thatcham MET Apprentice and Advanced Technologies Technician of the Year – was conducted separately at a series of practical assessments held over three days this week at Thatcham Research. Read all about that in our September issue.
All finalists in all categories will attend the Bodyshop Awards & Expo 2025 on Monday and Tuesday, 20-21 October at The Belfry Hotel & Resort near Sutton Coldfield, where the winners will be unveiled live on stage on the Tuesday evening, together with this year’s 30 Under 30: Rising Stars.
Bodyshop Magazine editor Simon Wait, said as the independent expert jury was announced: “This year’s Bodyshop Awards & Expo is already shaping up to be one of our best ever. Our event continues to be the highlight of the UK accident repair calendar, featuring the industry’s only independent awards programme and, after 29 years, it is without doubt is longest running. Good luck to all of our Awards competitors this year.”
