Public consultation for bodyshop standard extended

The second public consultation of proposed updates to BS10125 has been extended until 30 June.

BS10125 is the British Standards for Bodyshop. It is undergoing its first review since 2014, which is intended to align it with new technologies such as ADAS and electric vehicles, as well as developments in vehicle design and manufacture.

The IMI has also added a new Continuous Professional Development (CPD) framework to ensure technicians continue to achieve the professional standards expected.

The standard is intended to improve the quality of repairs and lower the risk of re-work, improve customer satisfaction and retention, provide a robust base for business development and expansion, provide ongoing quality assurance through repeated, rigorous safety checks and audits, and keep drivers safe.
