Young couple take on motorhome body repairer

A young Staffordshire couple who struggled for years to find a motorhome body repairer that met their high standards have solved the problem by buying one themselves.

Lewis Grimley, 31, and his partner Natalie Moore took over Cannock Resprays in February this year and can already measure their success by a waiting list that has since doubled from two months to four.

Grimley, who began his career selling motorhomes at the age of 16 and has progressed through the ranks to general manager, said: “Being in the industry ourselves, we always found it hard to find good body repairs on motorhomes. Using over 10 companies previously, we never found someone with the attention to detail that Cannock Resprays had.

“So once we knew the company was available, it was an immediate yes and we never looked back.”

Cannock Resprays was initially founded as a car body repairer 35 years ago. It built a strong reputation with local car dealers before changing direction under the previous owner, who spotted a gap in the motorhome repair market.

Grimley continued: “The first few months we had a lot to learn. We had a two to three-month wait to get into the workshop then and now it’s a four to five-month wait. That shows that we are securing more customers than ever, and means we have the opportunity to look at expanding our team.”

Longer-term, the plan is to expand into a larger premises and establish an industry-leading workshop.

Grimley concluded: “We are a long time away from this, but we have high ambitions and goals. As a young family, we have the time, determination and backing to get where we believe we can get to. The future of Cannock Resprays is bright.”
