Stephen Murray completes DC Coachworks acquisition
Stephen Murray’s SJDM parent company has announced it will complete the purchase of DC Coachworks on 31 April.
Based in Hastings, DC Coachworks was established in 2004 and specialise in minor scuffs, accident damage and full restoration.
With vehicle manufacturer approvals for Fiat, Alfa Romeo, Peugeot, Citroen, Vauxhall and Jeep, the company also specialises in classic and sports cars.
The deal follows the purchase of Eastbourne Coach Finishers in November 2024.
Murray said: “Steve and Pip Utting have built a great business with a fantastic reputation for customer service and specialist paintwork; it’s still the only business I know that’s had to extend its insurance cover to exceed £10m for a single car.
“The acquisition adds the Stellantis brands to group and the new location pushes us further into Kent to best serve our customers and working partners.
“Mark Storey, senior engineer at ECF head office, has been promoted to head of business for DC Coachworks and we all look forward to welcoming the new team into the ECF family.”
