Stephen Long appointed COO at Covéa Insurance
Covéa Insurance has appointed Stephen Long as chief operating officer.
Long joined the company 25 years ago as a graduate trainee and has subsequently held a wide range of roles across the organisation and gained insights into all aspects of the business.
He will continue to lead the company’s claims, operations, IT and customer functions and retain his position on executive committee, while as COO he will focus on three core priorities for the business: operating a lean and agile organisation; delivering high‑quality service and claims handling and ensuring the company’s ongoing commitment to Consumer Duty.
Philippe Domart, chief executive officer of Covéa Insurance, said: “Stephen’s appointment reflects the strategic nature of his responsibilities and the critical role he plays in our organisation. He has a rare ability to balance operational efficiency, market‑leading service and our responsibilities to customers, while adapting to the changing needs of our markets and business.
“His depth of experience and understanding of Covéa Insurance make him ideally placed to continue leading in this role.”
Remarkable journey
Long said: “I’m delighted to be taking on the COO role and working with Philippe and the rest of the executive team in taking Covéa forward in the next phase of our strategy. We’ve been on a remarkable journey in recent years and look forward with real optimism.
“We have a hugely talented team, and we’ll continue to focus on being straight forward and easy to do business with, delivering consistently for our customers, brokers and partners and being a great place to work. We have a really bright and exciting future ahead and I look forward to playing my part as COO.”
