NWVA on target for DEBRA UK as London Stadium
The Nationwide Vehicle Assistance (NWVA) has raised more than £55,000 for DEBRA UK through a charity football match.
DEBRA UK is the national charity supporting individuals and families affected by Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB).
Organised by NWVA executive chairman Mick Jennings and Martyn Rowley, executive director of the National Body Repair Association (NBRA), and sponsored by Boniface Engineering, Copart, New Era Energy, Vision, Morelli Group, and Vizion Network, the game saw NWVA Legends take on Industry United FC at West Ham United’s London Stadium.
More than 350 supporters turned up to watch the encounter, which saw a number of football legends and famous faces turning back the clock, including Jimmy Walker, Paul Koncheski, Zavon Hines, Freddie Sears, Marlon Harewood, Tom Skinner, Troy Deeney, Harlee Dean, Jay Emmanuel-Thomas, Krystian Pearce, and Anton Ferdinand.

Immensely proud
Jennings said: “After six months of organising and bringing together a worthy opposition, it was incredible to see everything come to life at such an iconic venue. This event was about far more than football; it was about uniting our industry to support DEBRA UK and the vital work they do.
“To raise over £55,000 is something we are immensely proud of, and we know it will make a real difference in helping fund research towards a cure for EB.”
Rowley added: “While the result didn’t go our way, it was played in great spirit and showcased the very best of our industry coming together for a meaningful cause. Most importantly, the day achieved something far greater than football. It helped shine a spotlight on the incredible work of DEBRA UK, raising awareness of the challenges faced by those living with EB and the vital support the charity provides.
“To have already raised over £55,000 is truly outstanding. Let’s keep that momentum going and aim to reach £60,000 in the coming weeks.”
Ann Avarne, corporate partnerships manager at DEBRA UK, concluded: “This was an incredible event and a fantastic achievement for DEBRA. The commitment and generosity shown by Mick Jennings and the entire NWVA team shone through every aspect of the day. Their support continues to make a meaningful impact on the EB community, and we are truly grateful for their ongoing partnership and dedication.”
