Google searches for electric cars up 56%
Google searches for ‘electric cars’ rose 56% in the last year, with new analysis identifying the most popular models.
The research, carried out by MoneySuperMarket, looked at data for than 200 models in over 200 international markets.
It found that Chinese model BYD Seal was the most searched-for electric vehicle with 916,000 searches in the last year, followed by Tesla Model Y and Tesla Model 3 with 897,000 and 661,000 searches respectively.
In fourth place was the Polestar 4 with 647,000 searches, with the BMW iX3 (596,800) and the Jeep Avenger (519,200) also popular among car buyers.
MoneySuperMarket also compared avearge insurance costs for the most popular models, with the BYD Seal most expensive at £813.12, followed closely by the Tesla Model 3 (£785.24) and the Tesla Model Y (£782.16).
