Garage Talk Radio founder set for 24-hour charity challenge

Garage Talk Radio founder Ben Coates will remain live on air for 24 hours to raise funds for automotive charity Ben.

The radiothon will take place from 8am on 20 August to 8am on 21 August.

Throughout the broadcast he will be joined by members of the Garage Talk team, industry leaders, special guests and supporters from across the automotive aftermarket.

The broadcast will feature interviews, discussion, listener interaction, industry debate and entertainment, creating a unique event designed to bring the automotive community together for a worthy cause.

Industry support

He said: “The automotive industry has always looked after its own, and Ben is at the heart of that support network. We spend a lot of time talking about the challenges facing garages, technicians and the wider aftermarket, but this is an opportunity to do something practical and give something back.

“I’ll be live on air for 24 hours straight, joined by guests and members of the Garage Talk team throughout the challenge, and we’re hoping the industry will get behind us and help raise as much money as possible for a fantastic cause.”

Raising awareness

Ellen Plumer, head of awareness and experience at Ben, added: “We’re incredibly grateful to Ben Coates and everyone at Garage Talk Radio for taking on this challenge in support of Ben. Raising awareness is just as important as raising funds because the more people who know about Ben and the support available, the more people we can help.

“The automotive community is built on strong relationships, and initiatives like this bring people together while helping us spread the message that nobody in our industry has to face life’s challenges alone.”
