Fix Auto Gloucester on course for double growth

Fix Auto Gloucester has completed the first phase of an ambitious expansion programme that will double the size of the operation.

Owner Aron Matthews recently acquired a 9,000 sqft unit adjacent to his existing site. Two-thirds of the new building has now been converted into a dedicated MET and panel repair facility, while the investment has also included the installation of ADAS calibration and four-wheel alignment systems.

Relocating MET and panel work to the new unit has freed up additional space within the existing 8,000 sqft workshop, which houses three spraybooths, one of which is dedicated to commercial vehicles.

This additional space is expected to support an uplift in capacity of at least 30%.

Grow and develop

Matthews said: “I outlined my ambitions to grow and develop the business when I joined Fix Auto UK two years ago, and I’m always true to my word. Being part of the group gives you confidence, and I almost immediately started looking for a suitable building that would future-proof the business.

“When the unit next door became available, I jumped at the chance. It really is the perfect site for us and, importantly, gives us further scope to grow should we need to.”

Mark Hutchins, operations director at Fix Auto UK, added: “The rate at which our franchise partners are investing in and developing their businesses is phenomenal. Last week we celebrated the opening of an all-new site in Basingstoke, and this week we’re recognising another smart and well-executed investment at Fix Auto Gloucester.

“Aron has been extremely clever with the design and layout, creating a highly efficient operation while retaining flexibility for future expansion.”
