Craig Daycock to step down as Mirka UK managing director
Mirka UK managing director Craig Daycock has announced he will retire at the end of the year after 40 years with the company.
Phil Sandford has stepped up as interim business development director and will succeed Daycock as managing director from January next year.
Daycock joined the company’s automotive refinish division in October 1986 and in December 2000 was promoted to national sales manager. He was named sales director in 2008 and in 2010 stepped into the role of managing director.
He said: “I have enjoyed an incredible career with Mirka, which has seen the company’s significant growth and expansion into a world leader in surface finishing technology. I have overseen many challenges and significant achievements, including the development of our Milton Keynes training centre, and along the way I have made many friends.
“I would like to take this opportunity to thank my colleagues, customers and business partners for their support over the past 40 years and I wish everyone well for the future.”
Meanwhile, Sandford joined Mirka in 2005 and has worked in operational leadership, business development, and finance.
