Chinese cars flood UK market with 412,000 sales

New data has revealed that there are now more than 412,000 Chinese cars on UK roads.

A report from Gecko Risk Insights found that 22,637 new Chinese models joined the UK car parc in May alone, representing a 338% increase on the same month in 2025.

Gecko Risk Insights is now predicting that Chinese vehicle manufacturers will sell more than 400,000 into the UK market this year, underlining the UK as the largest export market for Chinese vehicles.

The Jaecoo 7 was the most popular Chinese model in May and across the last year, although MG remains the largest Chinese brand in the UK with more than 206,000 vehicles. It followed by BYD with almost 95,000 vehicles, while Jaecoo has recorded sales of over 40,000.
