Chery International tops 20 million global sales

Chery International has become the first Chinese vehicle manufacturer to sell more than 20 million models around the world.

Exports have driven brand sales, with 943,800 vehicles sold into 130 markets globally in the first six months of the year. This represents year-on-year growth of 71.5%.

Meanwhile, the company has also achieved four consecutive monthly export records, with one Chery vehicle shipped overseas every 17 seconds.

The OMODA was the first model launched in the UK in August 2024, followed by the JAECOO and CHERY in January and August last year. The LEPAS became the fourth model to join the UK market earlier this year.

Landmark achievement

Gary Lan, CEO, Chery International UK, said: “Reaching 20 million global vehicle sales is a landmark achievement for everyone at Chery International globally. It reflects nearly three decades of innovation, investment and continuous improvement, as well as the trust placed in our brands by customers around the world.

“As our presence here in the UK continues to grow, we remain focused on delivering high-quality, intelligent vehicles that meet the needs of customers in every market. The UK is an important part of our global and local journey, and we’re excited to continue building the success of OMODA and JAECOO with British customers and retailers alike.”
