Average electric vehicle repair costs reach £3,479

New analysis has revealed that average electric vehicle repair costs in the UK have risen to £3,479 in the last year.

This is according to the August 2026 Battery Electric Vehicle Insights report, published by Gecko Risk.

The data also showed that the average repair cost for a petrol hybrid was £3,095 in the last 12 months.

Meanwhile, average labour costs for electric vehicle repairs were recorded at £1,122, with a further £1,431 spent on parts.

Gecko figures found that there were 2,269,201 electric vehicles on UK roads by the end of July, with 47,100 new electric vehicles added during the month. This compares with 45,484 new petrol hybrid sales in July.

The figures have been released after research from accident repair specialist AX revealed that repair costs for electric vehicles are 19% higher on average than internal combustion engines and typically spend nine per longer in workshops.
