Volvo XC90 tops EV Performance Report

Dealer Auction’s latest EV Performance Report has revealed a strong sales performance in June for alternatively fuelled vehicles.

Average mileage of sold alternatively fuelled vehicles across the month was 29,450 miles, with the average age of sold models at 3.4 years.

Meanwhile, the number of electric vehicle sales rose by 56%, although its market share remained modest at just 1.33%.

Dealer Auction’s marketplace director Kieran TeeBoon said: “We’re very encouraged by these latest EV figures, alongside the emerging trend towards younger vehicles in the market. Increased profitability and growing buyer interest are promising indicators of the exciting potential ahead for the EV sector.”

In terms of best performing models, the Volvo XC90 re-claimed the top spot with an average sales margin of £6,572, ahead of the Tesla Model 3 (£4,084) and Kia Sportage (£3,256).

TeeBoon concluded: “June has been a highly impressive month for AFVs. We’re starting to see clear preferences emerge for specific models, with dealerships and consumers gaining a stronger understanding of which AFVs drive the best sales.

“It’ll be fascinating to watch whether these trends continue and what new positive developments come to the forefront.”
