Used petrol cars dominate fastest-selling charts

Used petrol cars are the most in-demand models among UK consumers this month, although interest in used electric vehicles continues to grow.
AutoTrader has reported that petrol cars are the quickest selling models on its platform, finding buyers in just 28 days, while average selling time for hybrid and diesel vehicles is 31 days.
Electric cars sell in an average of 32 days, but this is three days quicker than the same time last month while models aged three-to-five years old are taking just 27 days to sell.
In terms of categories, models under a year old occupied the top three spots in June, with SUVs accounting for six of the 10 fastest selling models.
Top of the charts is the MG HS up to a year old, which is the UK’s fastest selling car, taking an average of just 15 days to leave forecourts.
Great value
Marc Palmer, head of strategy and insights, said: “Car buyers are still attracted by great value, which the HS offers in spades, and the fact it’s selling a fortnight faster than the national average highlights just how popular it is.
“The speed at which used cars sell is an accurate barometer of the strength of the used car market and our data suggests it remains in very robust health as we enter the summer months, as reflected in May’s record 86.3 million site visits.”
