Tesla Model 3 tops used electric vehicle charts

The used electric vehicle market has continued to grow during the first quarter of 2025, according to new analysis by online retailer cinch.
It has reported that used EV sales on its platform increased by 39% from quarter one of 2024 to quarter one of 2025, with lower prices and greater variety driving the uptick in sales.
Meanwhile, the Tesla Model 3 was the top-selling used EV during the first three months of the year, while the Tesla Model Y was the fastest-selling used EV.
The most popular model across all fuel types was the Vauxhall Corsa, followed by the Nissan Qashqai, while the growing influence of Chinese brands continued with BYD sales surging by 300%.
Sam Sheehan, motoring editor at cinch, said: “We predicted 2025 was going to be the year many drivers made the switch to a used electric car, and our latest data bears that out. While petrol and diesel cars continue to deliver the most used car sales overall, EVs and hybrids are the fastest growing markets.
“With the introduction of several new and exciting Chinese EV brands such as BYD and OMODA, it’s an exciting time for the industry.”
