Silverlake recognised in Hampshire Limited Report 2025

Vehicle recycling centre Silverlake has been awarded ‘Leading Hampshire Business’ status in the inaugural Hampshire Limited Report 2025, compiled by Grant Thornton UK.
The company was ranked 38 in the region following analysis of Hampshire’s top 599 privately owned businesses.
The Hampshire Limited Report 2025 analyses financial performance, scale and contribution to the regional economy, with Grant Thornton looking at two core metrics over three years: growth in turnover and average EBITDA (earnings before interest, depreciation and amortisation) margin.
Based in Southampton, Silverlake recovers approximately 96.7% of every vehicle for reuse or recycling. This includes providing quality graded, warranty assured, reclaimed automotive parts.
It employs over 160 local staff and engages with over 25 local charities and emergency services.
Allen Prebble, managing director, said: “I am incredibly humbled by this recognition for Silverlake and the achievements of our fantastic team. We have been based in Hampshire for 79 years and we are proud to be a major force supporting the county’s economy.
“I would like to thank every member of the Silverlake team for their hard work and commitment which has seen our business grow and thrive. We continue to invest in our people, our infrastructure and our facility, future-proofing and equipping the business to safely and effectively manage the waste produced by end-of-life vehicles, however they are powered; and to reduce carbon emissions with our supply of quality graded, warranty assured, reclaimed parts to the motor trade and motoring consumer.”
Nigel Le Bas, corporate finance advisory director at Grant Thornton UK, said: “This win for Silverlake signifies a remarkable achievement. It not only showcases their operational excellence but also serves as a benchmark for further growth and development.”
