PaintGo spray painting robots have arrived in UK
Imagine a future in which a member of your bodyshop team takes a spectro scan of a panel, pushes a button on a paint mixing machine and sends a robot off to complete multiple refinish jobs in the spraybooth in record time.
That future is not far off and the first iteration of the process – robotic arms that can spray six panels in around 15 minutes or complete a whole vehicle respray in under 40 minutes – is already in action in bodyshops across Europe, North America and Asia.
PaintGo spray painting robots
Last month (November) one of those machines – one of the PaintGo spray painting robots from a Chinese manufacturer – made its UK debut in a bodyshop in Manchester, namely Parkway Prestige (but more about that in our January issue).
But before that, Bodyshop Magazine editor Simon Wait sat down in November with Tom Chen, managing director of the Chinese business in the UK, to find out about his company’s award-winning robot arms and learn what this future might look like for the UK accident repair industry.
