New Prasco facility supports growth in EV replacement parts
Prasco UK has reacted to customer demand for more replacement parts for electric vehicles with a “major investment” that further elevates its position as one of the country’s leading suppliers of non-OE parts.
The Doncaster-based operation is further expanding its footprint by taking over a 27,000-sqft unit specifically to house its ever-expanding portfolio of replacement EV parts.
New Prasco facility
The announcement came ahead of Prasco’s presence at Automechanika Shanghai later this month, where the company will continue building on its long-standing relationships with leading parts manufacturers across China and elsewhere in Asia – partnerships that have played a central role in its growth and product development strategy.
Complementing Prasco’s existing adjacent 80,000-sqft distribution hub that houses the largest selection of independently certified replacement parts in the country, the new unit underscores its commitment to meeting the accelerating demand for independently certified replacement parts, specifically within the ever expanding EV market, by encompassing items for brands such as Tesla, MG, Jaecoo and BYD to name but a few.
The expansion comes in the same year the company celebrated its 20th anniversary, marking two decades of continual and sustained growth, innovation and customer commitment.
Major investment
Kelvyn Waugh, managing director for Prasco UK, commented on the new Prasco facility: “This expansion is yet another major investment for the company as we continue our drive to provide the best services possible.
“More and more of our customers are calling for EV parts, items they often need as soon as physically possible. Currently we have a impressive selection available but we need to grow and develop our offering especially as more and more EVs flood into the UK from overseas. We are in a extremely privileged position for we have long held close relationships with parts manufacturers in China and the Far East that are leading the way in EV replacement parts, the new facility will enable us to house arguably the largest selection in the UK and further future proof our supply services.”
He added: “Our customers need confidence that replacement parts for EVs are not only readily available, but meet the highest standards of safety. The new unit allows us to scale with demand and continue leading the way in the non-OE replacement parts market.”
