Fix Auto Pembrokeshire joins national repair network

Fix Auto UK continues its strategic growth with the addition of Fix Auto Pembrokeshire – a long-established, family-run repair centre located in west Wales.

This appointment further reinforces and strengthens the group’s reach across the UK, bringing its level of service repair to one of the most expansive geographic areas yet.

Withybush Coachworks becomes Fix Auto Pembrokeshire

Formerly known as Withybush Coachworks, the business was formed in 1963 and has remained within the same family since the start. The current manager, Adrian Haworth, ran the business alongside his father, Dave, for 11 years before his retirement and has been in sole charge for the past 26 years.

Strategically, the 8,000-sqft centre is perfectly positioned between Fix Auto Swansea and Fix Auto Aberystwyth, serving communities spanning Pembroke, Haverfordwest, Milford Haven, Fishguard and Cardigan.

Situated in a region synonymous with stunning coastlines and rural communities, Fix Auto Pembrokeshire holds a unique position in the network— as it’s Fix Auto UK’s only repair centre to carry the name of a “shire” – which reflects the geographical expanse the site is willing to serve.

Family business

While Adrian Haworth continues to oversee the business, he is accompanied by his three sons, Will, his assistant manager and VDA, Laurie, who manages front-of-house and customer liaison, and panel technician Joe. Four further productives ensure up to 20 vehicles a week are repaired, with scope to increase.

In order to join the network and meet the prerequisite requirements, namely BS 10125 certification, the Haworths have invested significantly in equipment and specific training.

“We have happily gone about our business for decades,” said Adrian Haworth, “and have forged an unrivalled reputation throughout our community for repairing vehicles to the highest standards possible. I am extremely proud of the craftsmanship here but, if I’m being truthful, we are isolated here in West Wales, and I believe we needed to be part of an organisation to future proof the business. The help and guidance provided by the Fix Auto team will undoubtedly elevate us into the 21st century.

Significant step

He added: “I am not getting any younger and I am extremely fortunate to have my sons in the business, I want them to adopt the latest management techniques and expertise to secure their, and the business’s, future.”

Fix Auto UK operations director Mark Hutchins added: “Bringing Fix Auto Pembrokeshire into the network is yet another significant step for us in our quest to continually grow and develop the network. Adrian has to be proud of the business that has been his lifeblood for decades but, he recognises, the time is now right to be part of a larger organisation where he and his team can feed off and work with an organisation of like-minded repairers which is where we’re able to support them.”
