Final call for IMI Skills Competitions 2025 nominations

The Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI) is making a final call for entries to its prestigious IMI Skills Competitions 2025.
It is particularly seeking entries to the Heavy Vehicle Technology and Body Repair categories as both have received fewer entries than last year.
Nominations are also still open for the Automotive Technology and Automotive Refinishing competitions streams.
All nominees must complete an online assessment by 28 March for a chance to take part in regional qualifiers across the UK by May, with the top six candidates in each category then progressing to compete in live finals in November.
Winners will then have an opportunity to compete in WorldSkills International in Shanghai in 2026.
The IMI Skills Competitions, designed by industry experts to showcase emerging talent in the sector and free to enter, are open to anyone currently studying a Level 3 apprenticeship, or those who have completed one within the last 12 months.
Competition categories include:
- Automotive Technology
- Automotive Body Repair
- Automotive Refinishing
- Heavy Vehicle Technology
